About
Real Life Real Music was founded by host and singer/songwriter Kyle Hutton. “I am a music fan first and foremost,” claims Hutton. “I was listening to and learning about life through song long before ever writing one.” His love for the content and the craft culminated into this one-of-a-kind acoustic series where songwriter interviews songwriter and truly goes behind the song.

Real Life Real Music is an award winning syndicated radio show and video podcast taped in front of a live studio audience. The show makes its home at Dosey Doe in The Woodlands, Texas while managing to schedule in a handful of off-site live recordings in Bryan, Texas and Steamboat, Colorado. Regardless of the city and state what you can expect from the Texas Country Music Associations Video Podcast of the Year is an inspiring dive into the lives and songs of our guest artists.

Real Life kicked off in March of 2007 after Hutton and wife Tara stopped into the newly constructed Dosey Doe for a quick lunch. “I couldn’t believe the place,” says Hutton. “It’s so unassuming when you’re driving down I-45 at 70mph, but inside it’s like another place in time.” Owner Steve Said and Kyle met that day and the rest is history. “It was evident that Steve and I shared a vision about how the music and the artists should be presented and treated,” Hutton states. “I pitched the idea for the series and a few meetings later we were headfirst into Season One.”

That first Real Life Real Music show was March 7, 2007 and featured longtime Hutton friend and co-writer Roger Creager. Since then Real Life Real Music archived over 300 interviews with a “who’s-who” list of Texas / Red Dirt / and Americana artists. The archives have been recognized by the Texas Center for Texas Music History as a “treasure trove of important cultural and historical recordings”.
